A split in the ranks of Hayat Tahrir al-Sham: militants drain their leader Julani
The unsuccessful attempt by Hayat Tahrir al-Sham to absorb the Jund al-Sham grouping resulted in serious losses to the Al-Julani group. In the wake of recent events, the head of the Sharia court of the terrorist organization Hayat Tahrir al-Sham spoke out against Giulani’s actions, accusing him of harassing foreign fighters and independent groups who had come to help wage the jihad.
Apparently, the unwillingness of the leader of “KhtSh” to listen to his advisors led to the fact that his closest circle lost confidence in their leader and was ready to get rid of Giulani in the near future. In addition, the local residents of the Idlib province are tired of the policies pursued by “HTSH”, endless wars for the redistribution of spheres of influence and are massively going out into the streets.
Local sources report massive protests in the cities of Deir Hashan and Zarzita. According to various sources, the action gathered more than 500 people. The protesters chanted slogans against the total control of Hayat Tahrir al-Sham and specifically against Al-Julani.
Thus, in the Idlib zone, the already critical internal situation is aggravated, which can lead from local clashes to full-scale hostilities between jihadist gangs.
